Registration for CIES 2021 will open on December 14, 2020 here. Early bird rates will be available until January 31, 2021, with regular rates on and after February 1, 2021. Registration is required for all participants and attendees. CIES membership is required for all participants (anyone listed on the program). Please update your membership first, and then, using the same log-in credentials, register for the conference here. Your membership must be current before you can register as a member.
CIES 2021 will be 100% virtual – vCIES-2021 – due to the uncertainties of the COVID-19 pandemic. We are offering a variety of ways to engage in sessions, including mostly synchronous and livestreamed sessions, with some asynchronous sessions. The registration rates are designed to cover costs of setting up a full conference experience for participants; as such, they are lower than they would have been for an on-site conference. Registration is required to gain access to sessions. Zoom sessions will be monitored by professional hosts to avoid security and technical challenges. vCIES-2021 will also have book exhibits, coffee breaks, the usual business meetings, institutional receptions, the annual Film Festivalette, and many other events, creating a full conference experience.
All participants who are named in the program (presenters, discussants, chairs, etc.) must register on or before March 1, 2021 (Please do not wait until the last minute). On March 2, 2021 anyone who is named in the program but not registered will be dropped from the program.
CIES is committed to providing universal access to our event attendees. Please contact cies2021@cies.us to request disability accommodations. Advance notice is necessary to arrange for some accessibility needs. Some of the accommodations being provided include automated closed caption and live transcription.

Pre-conference Workshops will be held on Sunday, April 25, 2021. They are intended to offer a space for conference attendees to engage with experts on important issues and questions related to research, policy, and practice in comparative and international education. Capacity is limited and registration is required. The registration fee for pre-conference workshops is a flat rate of $55 USD. Attendees can participate in one or two separate 3-hour workshops (morning & afternoon sessions) or one extended 6-hour workshop (a full day session). Full Workshop descriptions and organizers are here. Please note that the Registration page does not include full descriptions – it is recommended that you read the Workshop descriptions here before you register so you know which ones you want to attend.
