Calling all Reviewers, Chairs and Discussants!
CIES relies on its members to evaluate all of the paper, panel, roundtable, and poster proposals that are submitted to our annual conference. We seek scholars (academics, practitioners, or policymakers) in the field of comparative and international education with a wide range of specializations and areas of expertise to review for the General Pool, Standing Committees, and Special Interest Groups (SIGs). We need volunteers at all levels who have at least some experience attending CIES conferences. The intellectual rigor and strength of reputation of our annual conference derives in part from our blind peer review process.
To volunteer to become a reviewer, please log onto our online submission system, All Academic, and select “Volunteer to become a Chair, Discussant, or Reviewer.” As noted, you may also volunteer to serve as a Chair and/or Discussant for panel or roundtable sessions on this page. Your selection of keyword areas of expertise and geographic areas of expertise will assist our unit planners in assigning proposals to appropriate reviewers.
Please volunteer to review proposals submitted to the General Pool, and also to the SIGs and Committees that reflect your areas of expertise. Reviewers provide a constructive assessment and assign scores for each submission they are assigned. Each proposal will be reviewed by a minimum of two reviewers — and thus we require a large number of volunteers for this important work.
Review panels will be formed in early October and reviewers will then receive their assignments. The CIES 2021 Program Committee will expect all assigned reviews to be completed within two weeks of when they are received.
